Brief History:

Teaching in South Valley University (SVU), a former branch of Assiut University, began in October 1970. SVU  was separated from Assiut University on January 2,1995 by decree No.142 .Its  main campus is located in Qena, a city which is 600 km south Cairo, SVU is unrivaled in the fact that it serves the largest geographic area in Egypt, south of the Valley (340km. in length and 200km in width to the coast of  the Red Sea ) .
